The Call of the Wild (Entry #1)

     Hiking has been a fan favorite hobby for generations. Not only is hiking a great way to exercise, it's healing for your mind as well! There's something about being able to unplug, be in nature and not have to worry about the hustle and bustle of life for a period of time. In today's entry, we'll discuss why hiking is my favorite hobby and why it should be yours too. 


    Hiking gives you the opportunity to limit screen time, be outdoors, engage your senses and not worry about what's going on in the world. Listening to the sounds of nature and seeing the beautiful views is relaxing, it allows you to be in tune with your senses and decompress from our busy lives. A lot of trails allow you to see sights that look like a painted picture! 




    The physical benefits are some of the best too. If you want to lead a healthy, active lifestyle, but going to gyms isn't for you, then hiking is the answer! You can decide how challenging or how leisurely you'd like your hike to be, either way you're getting great exercise. It strengthens your muscles, builds stamina, and improves your cardio tolerance. It's suitable for people of all fitness levels and can provide a fun, different way for weight loss that's more engaging than running on a treadmill in a smelly gym. 

    Hiking is more than a hobby, it provides a great outlet for overstimulation and it's a great source for exercise. You just can't beat everything is has to offer and the numerous options for trails anywhere you go!
