Self-Care(Entry #10)

I have always been an advocate for self-care and doing what helps you feel the best. I've been on a journey with this for a few years now and it has proven to be really successful for myself. However, one of the most challenging parts is being able to apply the tactics you acquire for self-care while being in a hard time in life.  My family and I have hit a rough spot in our lives recently, and through our healing journey I've been the poster child for staying committed to the tactics I've learned over the years. Hormones/Antibiotics (Entry #9)

This comic is attempting to make the situation about added hormones/antibiotics funny by making a joke about saying no to drugs. It hints at the fact that the animals are being given these things because the FDA says it's okay even though there are consequences for both the animals and humans.  I think using the picture of cows makes it more appealing for people because it sheds a light on the animal cruelty aspect too. If the comic used humans or a picture of meat to make the point, I don't think it would be as effective. Humans are also more drawn to cutesy looking images! I also made a connection in my mind to the drug epidemic amongst humans. For years the common saying being taught to children is "say no to drugs." We should be doing the same when it comes to the food we choose to ingest.
